Cheney, Iraq, and Accountability (or lack thereof)

Monday, February 20th, 2006

I think the media spent too much time on the whole Dick Cheney shooting incident. That said, the administration’s delay in getting out the new once again evidences how much they try to manage the press.
Another CIA official has come out saying that the administration always wanted to attack Iraq and was looking for any reason to justify war.
Since Bush finally admitted that the Iraq War has not gone as well as planned, why hasn’t anyone been fired or demoted? Rumsfeld is still Secretary of Defense. Wolfowitz was promoted to head the World Bank. Condoleeza Rice was promoted to Secretary of State. While those whose prognostications proved more accurate than the adminstrations official line were fired. Economic Advisor Lawrence Lindsey was fired for suggesting that the war would cost up to $200 billion versus the official $60 billion estimate. General Eric Shinseki was pushed aside for suggesting that we would need several hundred thousand troops to win and hold Iraq.

Olympics and ear wax?

Some of you have wet ear wax?!?! At least now I have more proof that Asians don’t sweat as much…or smell as bad.
I used to prefer watching Canadian coverage of the Olympics since they actually showed the games (not human interest stories) and they don’t wait for prime time. But now that NBC is broadcasting the games in HD, I get stuck watching sports where I already know the results.
In case you were wondering what became of Eddie the Eagle.
I discovered that QFC is a very depressing place at 8PM on Valentine’s Day. It’s like everyone is ashamed that they’re alone on Valentine’s Day. Speaking of which, when did people start calling it V-Day?

It’s 4am and I finally finished upgrading my blogging software. Damn comment spammers drove me to upgrade and I ran into several problems.
