Bush is taking a 5 week vacation. A war president, eh? Somehow I doubt that FDR ever took 5 weeks off during WWII.
Bush says he believes Palmeiro when he says that he never intentionally took steroids–even after Palmeiro failed a drug test. Bush has a history of denying evidence that doesn’t support his views (e.g. WMD). Bush also had a lot of good things to say about Vladmir Putin after their first meeting. Since then, Putin has centralized power, imprisoned opponents, and taken control of the media. Bush obviously isn’t a good judge of character.
Jean Schmidt won the congressional seat in Ohio over the Democratic Iraq veteran candidate, Paul Hackett. Hackett challenged the Bush administration’s Iraq policy even after serving in Iraq. I saw Schmidt talk about how important it is to support our president during a time of war. Why do people believe that we should blindly follow our leaders? Isn’t that what Germans did with Hitler? (I am in now way equating Bush with Hitler, I’m just saying that blindly following your leaders is never a good thing.)
