A local church threatened a national boycott of Microsoft if it didn’t withdraw its support of a state anti-gay discrimination bill. It also demanded that two Microsoft employees be fired. So is he saying that God wants those two employees fired?

Sunday, April 24th, 2005That’s what I would like to tell people I know that vote Republican but consider themselves socially liberal. Their party is being taken over by the religious right. Evangelical Christian leaders are working with Republican leaders to punish judges that they deem hostile to their agenda. They’re trying to create a Christian version of Iran where religious leaders rule the country rather than elected officials.

Paul Wolfowitz is now head of the World Bank. He was way off in terms of the number of US troops required to win in Iraq as well as a the cost of the war and reconstruction. Obviously, Bush doesn’t take job performance into account when handing out promotions.

The Pope chose to spend his last days at home. If he had stayed in the hospital, they could have kept him alive longer on life support. So by denying doctors the ability to prolong his life, was that a sin?
Play Ball
Friday, April 8th, 2005Went to the Mariners home opener on Monday. It was a fun time and the Mariners beat the Twins. I was in my new seats for the first time, 6 rows from the field. Sitting so close to the field gave me a new appreciation for how hard infielders throw the ball. Richie Sexson hit two homeruns–pretty nice start.
