Eugene hit the road this morning on move to NYC (via San Francisco and LA). While Eugene stayed with me for a few days, it was kind of weird walking into my basement to find him hanging out in front of the TV and typing away on his laptop–just like when he lived here. It must of have felt even weirder for Eugene since the TV and sofa set used to belong to him.

Trampoline?

I really don’t understand some of the events (I won’t even call them sports) they’re adding to the Olympics. How did Trampoline become an Olympic event? I’m still trying to get over the fact that Synchronized Swimming is an event–no Olympic event should require the athletes to wear makeup. What’s next, Bridge? Don’t laugh, it was a demonstration sport during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

The HD version of the Olympics is very cool except for one very big problem; it’s 1-2 days behind. What the heck was NBC thinking? It’s bad enough that they delay the regular coverage so much. Another annoying problem with the HD program is that there are only a handful of HD commercials that they keep showing over and over and over…

A friend of mine sent me a link of a hilarious video of Will Ferrell playing Bush. But is it so funny because it’s almost believable?
There’s a lot of talk about the lack of a “bounce” in Kerry’s numbers following the convention. It’s about what I expected, I think almost everyone in America has already made up their mind. There weren’t many voters to sway–and admittedly there wasn’t that much broadcast television coverage.
